EEEGR’s 20th Anniversary

East of England Energy Group (EEEGR) celebrated its twentieth anniversary on the 3rd June by gathering some of the biggest names in industry to launch its new manifesto, discussing the future of the sector and announcing its new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RenewableUK (RUK).

The launch of EEEGR’s much-anticipated manifesto set the tone of the event, presented by Executive Chair, Martin Dronfield.

He took the audience through EEEGR’s intentions to showcase the increasingly diverse portfolio of energy sources the region has to offer. He highlighted how the region would need more collaboration to address the skills shortage and upcoming requirements backdropped against how he saw EEEGR’s role developing over the next three years.

Martin was followed by an array of speakers from industry such as Xanthe Kueppers, from Sizewell C, Steph Crawford from OPITO, Bill Cattanach from the OGA, Isabel DiVanna from RUK, Charlie Jordan of ScottishPower Renewables and Johnathan Reynolds of Opergy. Every speaker had an overwhelming message of thanks for the support their respective organisations had enjoyed from EEEGR over the years.

With tremendous positivity each speaker highlighted how their organisations intend to go forward and the role that EEEGR may be able to play in its continued support for industry.

In support of the delivery of its new manifesto, EEEGR has already been securing sponsorship deals across industry and growing its team to ensure that they can deliver their promises to the region. This includes Anna Castles, Events Manager and Mark Groves, Business Relationship Manager, both of whom bring invaluable skills to EEEGR’s phenomenal existing team.

The MoU between EEEGR and RUK further recognises EEEGR’s role in not just local strategy, but at a national level. With the current EEEGR chair sitting on RUK’s board the two organisations intend to proceed in tandem.

A recording of the webinar is available here, and a copy of the presentation is available here.

EEEGR commissioned the following video to showcase its role in energy over the past twenty years.

Finally, a big thank you to our team and all our supporters and members, without whom the last twenty years would not have been possible!
