SNS 2012 - The Sea of Opportunity

Thursday 1st March 2012 08:30 - 16:30

The Sea of Opportunity

The most important conference for the offshore energy industry in the East of England.

The Southern North Sea Conference 2012 will be the biggest and best conference that EEEGR has delivered yet and we are honoured to play host to highest profile speakers of international renown.

Due to the outstanding success of our previous sell-out conferences and the multi-billion pound opportunities in the Southern North Sea, this year the conference is set to nearly double in capacity. We will also be introducing an exhibition zone which will represent companies across the supply chain.

The conference will focus on the main assets of our sea of opportunity; offshore wind and gas – with a running theme of supply chain, procurement and skills.

We are honoured that the conference will be chaired by John Westwood, group chairman of international energy business advisors Douglas-Westwood.

Conference sponsor Seajacks UK are one of the biggest ambassadors for the skills and expertise of the East of England and are an excellent example of the strength of our supply chain. Their support of this event is testament to its position as the leading conference for the offshore energy industry in the East of England.

Meet the Buyer sessions

For the first time the SNS wconference will play host to two informative ‘Meet the Buyer’ sessions which will run alongside the conference presentations. We will have four tier one and tier two companies in both the gas and offshore wind sectors giving short presentations about contracting opportunities available immediately and in the near future. These sessions are designed specifically to advise you of key business opportunities and how to get on procurement lists.

Exhibition Zone

The exhibition will run simultaneously with the conference giving you the opportunity to gain extra profile at EEEGR’s flagship event. The exhibition zone will feature companies from across the supply chain all on hand to meet, greet and form new relationships.

There are 30 exhibition spaces available with a choice large (3m) or small (1m) spaces.

Added Value: Exclusive Members pre-Conference Breakfast

New to SNS12, EEEGR Members registered for the conference will benefit from a free pre-conference networking breakfast adding value to your membership. Members will be treated to bacon rolls from 7.30am whilst they get stuck into the day’s proceedings and make the most of the additional networking time.

    Seajacks (seajacks.jpg)

Seajacks Group was formed in 2006 specifically to construct, own and operate the most advanced, state-of-the-art fleet of self-propelled jack-ups in the world.  Our equipment has been built and is operated in compliance with the most stringent regulations and in accordance with standard procedures required to operate in the North Sea hydrocarbon industry. The Seajacks Kraken and Seajacks Leviathan were delivered and commenced operations in 2009, and the larger self-propelled jack-up Seajacks Zaratan is scheduled for delivery to Seajacks in May 2012.

The self-propelled jack-ups are equipped with DP2 capability which allows for fast, safe and cost-efficient transit and positioning between port and offshore locations; which makes these vessels suitable for the installation and maintenance of offshore wind farms and provides an innovative tool for offshore oil and gas operators.

Seajacks organisation is led by a senior management team, which averages more than 20 years experience in the offshore services/jack-up industry and is dedicated to customer service with an emphasis on safety and operational excellence. Furthermore, Seajacks operating and engineering personnel have substantial experience in all industry disciplines including building, marketing and operating of jack-ups. Using this experience, Seajacks is dedicated to developing the optimum fleet of vessels for installation maintenance, repair, hook-up and commissioning of WTGs, foundations, piles and platforms in the Southern North Sea.

In May 2010 Seajacks entered into a contract with Lamprell Energy Plc, UAE to build the Seajacks Zaratan, a modified version of the MSC NG5500 design. The Seajacks Zaratan incorporates a fully-redundant DP2 propulsion system, the ability to perform jacking operations in 2m significant wave heights, accommodation for 90 persons, an 800T leg-encircling crane designed by MSC, and will be fully-compliant with all North Sea regulatory requirements.  Seajacks will take delivery of the new-build Seajacks Zaratan in May 2012.
