Energy Skills Foundation Programme

The East of England energy sector is quickly developing well paid, exciting and rewarding opportunities. There has never been a better time to be part of it.

The energy sector is calling out for skilled workers in oil & gas, renewables and nuclear. This foundation programme provides the stepping stone into future jobs and qualifications.

The Energy Skills Foundation Programme is a 12 month structured training programme which will teach students essential knowledge and ‘hands on’ training needed for the energy sector.

The course is in its third successful year at Lowestoft with 16 students currently enrolled.

Modules include:

  • Skills for Energy

- Working safely within processing industries environment

- Preparing and producing process materials within a processing industries environment

- Engineering drawings and specifications

- Marking out, shaping and joining materials

- Electrical Technology

  • Knowledge for Energy

- Conventional Technologies and the Grid

- Oil & Gas extraction

- Offshore Wind Awareness

- Introduction to the Nuclear industry

  • Career Development and Employability
