During this time he had extensive international experience, working in Europe, West Africa and the Middle East.
He initially joined AMEC in 1999 as West Africa Business Development Manager, and shortly afterwards took the opportunity to spend 6 months on temporary assignment with the Commercial Section of the British Embassy in Angola. He became Operations Director for West Africa in 2002, being responsible for a number of significant projects including Shell Bonga, a massive FPSO in Nigeria.
Richard has lived near Norwich since 1997, and despite a busy schedule still manages to find time to race his own kit car in a national motor racing series, try to keep fit, ski occasionally and relax with friends and family.
