Paul Chilvers
Regional Director
Offshore Design Engineering Ltd.

Paul is the Great Yarmouth Regional Director for Offshore Design Engineering Ltd (ODE), where he has been a senior manager for 14 years. As the Regional Director Paul has overall responsibility for all aspects of ODE’s business carried out from the Great Yarmouth office, which includes all P&L, business development and delivery of projects.

Paul has over thirty years experience in the Energy/Marine/Renewables related industries with extensive project and contract management capability. This experience has been gained whilst working for various local and international companies such as Aker Kvaerner, Shell, Grootcon, McAlpine, Protech and SLP.

Paul originally started his working life as an apprentice at Brooke Marine Ship Builders in Lowestoft, progressing with differing organisations through various supervisory roles into senior management positions. During this time Paul continued his education through to MSc level.

Apart from his time spent working overseas, Paul has always lived in Lowestoft and comes from a family that has a long association with the area and the Marine/Energy industries.  Having seen ongoing changes to the fishing, shipbuilding, oil & gas and renewables industries within the region, Paul understands the need to embrace change. One of the main reasons why Paul is a member of the EEEGR board is that he strongly believes that there is still potential for significant growth in the region, but recognises that if this is to be achieved, it is essential that we work together towards common goals for the region.
