It is supported by the Annual Innovation Awards showcasing new ideas and developments from members. Programmes such as Wider Energy Horizons are aimed at supporting companies to take the next steps and support product commercialisation.

Engagement with the academic networks plays an important role within this theme. Working in partnership with groups such as i10, EEEGR is building relationships with the regional knowledge base, and research and development teams within universities and business for mutual gain.

EEEGR's Objectives:

• Continue promotion of individual business activity through the Innovation Awards and track progress over time.
• Assemble specialist advisors required to facilitate the needs of business.
• Facilitate wider engagement of ‘champions' aligned to energy through other business or academic networks, including i10.

Encourage business to be open and share their ‘problems' to help stimulate solutions.
