Carbon Connections

Carbon Connections is based at the University of East Anglia, recognised as a world leading research centre for environmental sciences. It already has a well established Carbon Reduction programme (CRed) which was set up as a direct result of the UEA's focus on outreach activity: enabling research to achieve results. Since its launch it has developed a significant reputation for offering advice and guidance to both individuals and organisations. The Carbon Connections programme was inspired by CRed and takes this one step further by offering the investment support for the development of ideas and the application of expertise
Launched in October 2006 the programme has initial funding until March 2009. With the potential to support between 30 and 50 separate projects Carbon Connections links partner universities with industry encouraging knowledge exchange and developing innovative ideas. To qualify for funding applications must be based on this type of partnership. From September 2007, every UK Higher Education Institute (HEI) and university is eligible to be the lead partner in an application. This broad range of specialised knowledge ensures that each project is matched carefully to its partner.
Project ideas may come from the science and engineering based disciplines, or involve innovative change management techniques from the social sciences.
NB Applications must be received by December 14th 2007
