Beyond 2010


Beyond 2010 is a new, region wide initiative, funded by the European Social Fund and East of England Development Agency and managed by Essex County Council.
It is the follow-up to the successful Towards 2010 programme, and was created to assist small to medium sized businesses in the East of England give staff new skills to move the business forward. The scheme provides SME's access to sector specific training advice and funding to help harness their full potential. EEEGR, alongside UK Ceed, have the responsibility of delivering funding for the low carbon and sustainable technologies sector.
Beyond 2010 allows businesses, including sole traders, to apply for up to 70% of the cost of training (excluding VAT) that they perceive as being critical in improving their business performance.
Low Carbon and Sustainable Technologies Criteria
Companies applying for a grant through the Beyond 2010 project must provide written evidence that they fit within the Low Carbon and Sustainable Technologies. Evidence can be provided on form B2 Page 1 in the Critical Business Needs section or in a supporting letter.
To qualify for the sector businesses must be able to state that the work they undertake fits one of the following statements;
- Reducing the carbon footprint of clients
- Increasing the energy efficiency of products
- Installing lower carbon products or renewable energy resources
- Reducing energy waste
- Using or manufacturing sustainable products or using recycled materials
Beyond 2010 runs until December 2010.
